Comparison to Drilling

Compared to machining a hole with a process like drilling, punching a hole
with UniPunch tooling is faster and cheaper. A properly made drilled hole is
round; it is cylindrical; it has no burr; unfortunately it is slow and expensive.
A punched hole is fast and inexpensive. A punched hole can be round,
or any shape. By its nature, punching entails some tearing of the material,
but that is generally not an issue for applications such as access holes, drain
holes or bolt clearance holes. Compared to machining a hole, punching a
hole allows the flexibility to make it any shape, fast, and at low cost.
