Standard Shapes
The shapes below are UniPunch standards. When ordering,
specify the dimensions you require, the angular
orientation, and the holder in which you will use
the punches and dies. UniPunch will key the punches and dies to fit the holders
with which you will use them. Refer to individual holder specifications for
the maximum punch diameters. Metric sizes are available.

Point “X” refers
to the position on the shape as illustrated and is used
to communicate the desired orientation.

Required Dimensioning Specifications
The shapes shown
here require additional dimension information when ordering.

Front of Unit Orientation Information
For
most UniPunch holders, shaped punches and dies can be
used in two positions at 90 degrees to each other, typically
at 0° and 90°, 45° and 135°,
180° and 270°, and so on. 0° is at the front
of the holder, and the angular rotation is clockwise
when viewed from the top. Keying at other than 90° is
also available.

The
keyhole shape as shown in the drawing, when ordered would
specify point ‘X’ at
180 and 270 degrees.
Heeled Punches are recommended for
notching the edge of a sheet. The heel of the punch projects
into the die to stabilize the punch.

Note: Use edge notch units
for high production and heavy material applications
or when notch is beyond the range of Heeled Punches.
