Standard Units

For those who fabricate parts for the appliance, transportation, material handling, agricultural, energy or constructions industries, you might be challenged with knowing what would be the most efficient method of notching your part corners, edges or extruded legs.

UniPunch can provide the solution and knowledge to fabricate a wide variety of parts with standard in stock tooling. Our 90 degree Corner Notching Units are available in 3x3 and 5x5 configurations for handling plate steel up to 1/4” thick. Our standard 90 degree Vee Notching Units are designed to notch structural or formed angles up to 3” deep. Our B-series 8x8 will notch up to 10 gauge steel.

Common Notching Example

The drawing below depicts a typical tooling configuration utilizing the UniPunch B-series right hand and left hand units to notch the corners.

Custom Units

For custom notching applications, UniPunch can design and manufacture corner, edge and vee notch units for your specific application. Product examples, such as shelving, metal cabinets, door and window frames require special corners and angles other that 90 degrees prior to forming. Shown below are some typical custom notching configurations.

With your part drawing, we can build custom tooling to produce your parts which will be compatible in shut height and die height with our standard C-frame punching units. We can also provide gauging within the tool to accurately position your part.No need to program your your turret or laser

Notched Parts

Fax or email your drawings to our engineering department for evaluation and price quote. Provide type & thickness of material to be notched. DXF, DWG, PRT or IGES are accepted CAD file formats.
